I Learned This the Hard Way
For over 20 years, I was the project manager everyone called when chaos needed taming. I managed hundreds of product launches at multiple brands. I built systems for beauty brands, finance companies, humanitarian nonprofits.
At work? I was known for clarity, structure, and getting things done.
At home? I was the mom scrambling at the last minute for every school event. The one who said “once I get through this busy season, I’ll slow down” (spoiler: the busy season never ended). My daughters absorbed my stress. I felt guilty for prioritizing work but also guilty for not being more “productive” with personal time.
I suppose I was looking to keep home and work life separate, lol!
Here’s what finally changed everything:
I started applying my PM systems to my personal life. Things got more organized. But I was STILL exhausted.
That’s when I realized: I had spent over 20 years managing projects but never managing my nervous system. I could have the perfect Asana project board and still feel depleted because my body was stuck in constant activation.
So I went deeper. 200-hour yoga teacher training. 30-hour Yin yoga certification. Reiki Level 2. I studied how the nervous system actually works—and how chronic stress shows up in the body.
